Nick (my cousin)… my 6′ 5″ barbecue joint owning cousin, came into town and he whipped up a batch of his most awesome sauce in my kitchen before we took it out to a very fun barbecue sauce contest here in Austin (run by Man Up Texas Barbecue – a nice blog) I know it was a long haul driving down to Austin and back up to Tyler in one day, but it was great seeing him, and it was obvious that he was having as much fun as me. I got to haul out the new lens and take a bunch of pictures too.
Taking a nice camera and lens out to a festival or contest like this gives one sort of an understood license to be taking pictures of people. Its a nice way to practice and tinker. Plus also a nice way to have good beer, and good barbecue sauce. Damn, I’m hungry now.
